In the summer of 2017, I had the opportunity to intern in the promotion department at Columbia Records in new york city AS A PART OF THE BIG RED PROGRAM. while there, I waS TASKED WITH THE RESPONSIBILITY OF USING INTERNAL ANALYTICS TO POSITIVELY INFLUENCE THEIR RADIO CAMPAIGNS.
Utilizing Columbia’s expansive library of singles, I analyzed trends in streaming data in the beginning months after a song’s release to gauge whether the track was on its way to being certified gold. In this way, the label could manage expectations and react appropriately early in the song’s campaign.
Throughout the internship, OUR PROGRAM ADDITIONALLY had the opportunity to visit the label’s media partners, including Youtube, Facebook, Electric lady studios, and spotify.
